Happy Friday! As we wrap up another week, we want to share some exciting updates and extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our wonderful donors.


Thanks to your generous contributions, the children at the new nursery school in Sani Village, Nkhotakota by Lake Malawi, have received a fantastic shipment of educational materials. These include books, digital writing tablets, alphabet and numeracy learning aids, toys, posters, and much more. Your support has truly made a difference!



We are delighted to share videos of the children eagerly using these new materials. The joy and enthusiasm on their faces are a testament to the positive impact your donations have had. One of the standout favorites among the children is the simple digital tablet, which costs just £2 – less than a coffee at your favorite coffee shop! Last week, we shipped 7 of these tablets, and the response has been overwhelming. The children love using them to draw, write, and express their creativity.




To ensure every child has the opportunity to benefit from these amazing learning tools, we aim to ship more digital tablets soon. Your continued support can help us achieve this goal, making it possible for each child to have their own digital writing tablet.

Easter Greetings and a Splash of Colour: Nursery School Walls Painted!

Your unwavering generosity continues to be the cornerstone of our efforts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children in Sani Village, Nkhotakota by Lake Malawi. In the spirit of celebration, we are thrilled to share a colourful update on our nursery school project. Thanks to your kindness and support, we have accomplished a significant milestone: the walls of the school have been beautifully painted a white coating to prepare for more colourful hues which will follow to infuse the space with vibrancy and warmth.



Imagine stepping into the newly painted nursery school and being greeted by walls adorned in a myriad of hues – a symphony of colors that reflect the hopes and dreams of the children who will soon fill these halls. From cheerful yellows to calming blues, each stroke of paint represents a labor of love and a commitment to creating a nurturing environment where young minds can flourish.



The transformation we are aiming for is nothing short of magical for these children. What was once a blank canvas will burst with life and possibility, setting the stage for countless moments of discovery and learning. As we stand in awe of the newly painted white walls which are the foundation and blank canvass of what is to follow, we are reminded of the incredible impact that collective action and generosity can have on our shared vision of a brighter future.

As we reflect on recent events in Malawi, we are reminded of the resilience and strength of our nursery school project in Sani Village, Nkhotakota. Malawi recently experienced unprecedented weather conditions, with extreme heat reaching up to 40 Degrees Celsius, followed by heavy rains and flooding. While these natural phenomena wreaked havoc across the region, we are grateful to report that our nursery school stood firm, undeterred by the elements.



The Impact of Extreme Weather

Malawi's recent encounter with extreme heat and subsequent heavy rains and flooding left many communities reeling from the aftermath. The scorching temperatures posed health risks and challenges to daily life, while the torrential rains and flooding brought about widespread destruction, displacing families, damaging crops and disrupting livelihoods.


Our Nursery School Stands Strong

Amidst these challenging circumstances, we are relieved to confirm that our nursery school in Sani Village emerged unscathed. The sturdy construction and careful planning ensured that the school remained intact, serving as a beacon of hope and stability amidst the chaos. The safety and security of our children and staff remain our top priority, and we are grateful for the resilience of our school building.


The Need for Enhanced Protection

While we celebrate the resilience of our nursery school, the recent weather extremes have reinforced the importance of bolstering our infrastructure's protection. Moving forward, we are committed to implementing additional measures to safeguard the school against future weather events. This includes reinforcing the structure with stronger wood beams and applying protective weather-resistant coatings for the roof.
