Dear Supporters and Donors,

As we enter the winter season, we want to take a moment to thank you once again for your generous support and to share some updates on how your contributions are making a difference for the nursery school children in Sani Village, Nkhotakota.

Thanks to your support, we have been able to purchase new cooking utensils for the nursery, including a large pot, or sefuliya (pictured below), which will be invaluable for preparing the morning porridge. Our previous pot had grown corroded and worn over time; and was prone to burning food, but with this new sefuliya, we can continue to cook nutritious meals for the children every morning.

Additionally, we have purchased new plates in anticipation of a special Christmas celebration! At the end of the year, we plan to host a small party for the children, complete with a warm meal and treats to celebrate the festive season. It will be a meaningful way to come together and celebrate their accomplishments, and it wouldn’t be possible without your incredible generosity.

This holiday season, we are filled with gratitude for all the ways you have helped us provide for these children. From cooking utensils for daily breakfasts, to learning and play materials; every contribution has been instrumental in creating a nurturing learning environment for them to play, learn and grow.

As always, thank you for being part of this journey with us. We look forward to sharing the joy of the upcoming Christmas season with the children and will keep you updated with photos and moments from our celebrations!

We are thrilled to share the joyous news of our nursery school's first ever end of term celebration, made possible through your incredible support and generosity. The nursery school construction completed in February 2024, and has since seen over 150 children come through its doors for breakfast, play and learning. This end of term marks a significant milestone in our journey to provide quality education and a nurturing environment for the children of Sani Village, Nkhotakota.

The end of term coincided with another special occasion – Gogo Amani's 80th birthday on 24th. To celebrate, the children joined Gogo Amani at her home by Lake Malawi; in a day filled with singing, dancing, and a delicious lunch of rice and goat stew- as well as a cheeky lollipop for dessert. The festivities brought smiles and laughter, creating cherished memories for everyone involved (Please see below video):

As the children break for the summer, we reflect on the remarkable progress we have made together - the progress made by the nursery school has been recognised by the local elders who joined the newly formed nursery school committee to start conducting a review which will help them plan for the next term. Your support has allowed us to create a safe, vibrant space where the children can play, learn, and develop. This nurturing environment is a testament to the collective efforts of our dedicated community of supporters.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to providing the children with nutritious breakfasts and enriching learning opportunities when they return in September. Your continued generosity will help us sustain and enhance these vital programs, ensuring that the children receive the support they need to thrive.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being an integral part of this journey. Your kindness and contributions have made a profound impact on the lives of the children and the entire community.

Wishing you a wonderful summer and looking forward to the next chapter together.

Warmest regards,

Sarah Kumvana Amani

As summer unfolds, we are filled with immense gratitude and joy to share some wonderful updates from our nursery school project in Sani Village, Nkhotakota by Lake Malawi. Thanks to your unwavering support, we have reached yet another milestone in our journey.

We are thrilled to announce that 50 digital writing tablets have arrived in Malawi, alongside other essential educational materials, including magnetic blackboard paint. Alongside the digital writing tablets, this innovative magnetic blackboard paint will allow the children to use magnetic letters and numbers, further enhancing their learning in numeracy and literacy.

This weekend, we had the pleasure of surprising the children with a special lunch, hosted by the matriarch of the school and the visionary behind its creation – my mother, Gogo (Grandma) Amani. It was a heartwarming celebration, marking six months since we embarked on this incredible project. The children's joy and excitement were palpable, and we captured some beautiful moments in the video below:

This significant milestone would not have been possible without your generous contributions. Your support has empowered us to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for the children, fostering their growth and development in ways we could only dream of.

As we near the end of this phase of the project, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. Your kindness and generosity have been the driving force behind our success, and we are profoundly grateful for your continued support.

Please enjoy the video of our summer celebration with Gogo Amani and the children. Your contributions have made a real difference, and we are excited to continue this journey with you as we move forward.

Thank you once again for everything.
